Hello, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're gonna take a look at a roof rack system on our 2020 Jeep Renegade. What we're looking at is four factory rails on this Jeep. And the bars we're gonna be using are gonna be the Yakima JetStreams and the feet are gonna be the TimberLines. The Jeep Renegade is an awesome runabout vehicle. You can take it on a lot of adventures, but sometimes adventures bring larger accessories with it, like your kayaks, skis, or snowboards that aren't gonna really fit inside this vehicle. more

Rhino Rack Roof Rack Review - 2017 Jeep Renegade- Video

Speaker 1: Today in our 2017 Jeep Renegade, we're going to be taking a look at a Rhino Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack System. That's going to consist of part numbers RRVA126B-2. That's going to be our black 49-inch crossbars we have up top. These also do come in silver under part number RRVA126S-2. Connecting our crossbars to our factory side rails, we're going to have our SX Series legs, which is going to be part number RRSX100. Best 2017 Jeep Renegade Roof Rack Options- Video

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at and showing you the differences between the best roof rack options available for our 2017 Jeep Renegade.When looking at the differences between these bars the first thing you're going to notice is going to be the actual shapes of them. With the Rhino Rack it's going to be the elliptical, and with the Thule and the Yakima that's going to have the arrow shape. All of these are going to cut down wind noise and drag while you drive and plus all of them have rubber strips up at the top to help out with that as well.Now when it comes to making them extra quiet, with the Rhino Rack it does come with a strip that you will need to cut to length once you have it where you want it and placed it underneath to cut down that wind noise and drag. With the Yakima there is a rubber strip that you would cut to length and put the entire length of the bar to help cut down the noise there. But with the Thule, there's just a tab on the underside here, you slide it forward, and you're good to go.Another difference between these three roof rack systems is going to be how high they sit off the actual factory raised side rails. With the Rhino Rack having the lowest profile and the Yakima having the tallest. more

Rhino Rack Roof Rack Installation - 2017 Jeep Renegade- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Jeep Renegade, we're going to be test fitting the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack System, consisting of part numbers RRVA126B-2.These are the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars, 49" long, black in color. These also come in silver, as part number RRVA126S-2, and finally we'll be using part number RRSX100. These are the SX Series legs for the Vortex Aero Crossbars, particularly for factory-raised side rails.The Rhino Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack System is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof, while freeing up space inside your vehicle. So if you want to carry your bikes or cargo basket, to carry your luggage or sporting goods, or even ski and snowboard carriers. The bars themselves are elliptical shaped, and that's going to help cut down wind noise and drag while you drive, especially since it has the vortex aero strip up at the top, to bridge that gap in between. To also help cut down the wind noise and drag, there are these ships that come with it, as well, that are cut to length and put underneath, to take up the gap in between the leg and the end of the bar here.Removing our end caps, you can see that we can use T-Track accessories with these particular bars. more

Rhino-Rack Vortex StealthBar Roof Rack Installation - 2017 Jeep Renegade- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Jeep Renegade we're gonna be test fitting the Rhino Rack Vortex Stealth Bar roof rack system, consisting of part numbers JA7980. These are gonna be both the bars and the straps that go around your factory-raised side rails.This is black in color, and it also comes in silver as part number JA7961, which will have the same components, just different colors.The Rhino Rack Vortex Stealth Bars are great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof while freeing up space inside your Jeep Renegade. One of the bonuses about this roof rack system is that it has a low profile design, like you see here. Plus, it almost looks factory installed with how it sits on your factory raised side rails. The bars themselves are elliptical shaped, and that coupled with the rubber vortex arrow strip up top, that's gonna cut down on wind noise and drag while you drive and make it just a little bit quieter while you're driving.This rack installs via the two rubber coated steel strips come up around your factory raised side rails and get tightened down with this apparatus here. Now, I will say that it can be a little difficult installing these, plus you may need to wear gloves because these metal pieces here, they can be a little sharp and a little bit tough on the fingers while you're trying to install them. more

These are the Yakima JetStream cross bars, 50 inches long, and part number Y00147. These are the Yakima Timberline Towers for the Yakima cross bars, particularly for factory-raised side rails.The Yakima JetStream roof rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof or freeing up space inside your vehicle. Can carry bike racks, cargo baskets, cargo boxes, ski and snow board carriers, as well as kayak carriers.The bar has a nice, aerodynamic shape to it and that, coupled with the strip on the top, as well as the strip that goes underneath and is cut to length underneath, that's going to cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive.Removing our end cap, you can see that it does have a strip on the top that can be pushed down and you can use T-track accessories with this roof rack as well, without having to trim the strip in the center here.On the end caps here, there is a knock out which you can replace with the Yakima SKS Key System, so you can make not only your roof rack secure to your factory raised side rails, but you can also make it keyed alike with your roof accessories.Now that we've gone over some of the features of the roof rack system, let's go ahead and show you how it installs. Also, if you wanted to cut down wind noise and drag with the bars, you can purchase a Yakima fairing, which you can find on etrailer.com.It's very easy to install. As I said, these are aluminum bars, but they do also come in black, part number THARB53B. As you can see, we have the front one installed. It has a nice aerodynamic shape here. The pair of crossbars have a weight capacity of 165 pounds, although you want to double check with your owner's manual, to make sure your car can withstand that weight. Rhino Rack Roof Rack Review - 2016 Jeep Renegade- Video

Today on our 2016 Jeep Renegade, we're doing a test fit of the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars. The part number for the crossbars we're using today is RRVA126B-2, and for our SX series legs, we're using RRRSX005. Now we already have our front crossbar here installed on our vehicle, we're going to show you how to put the last foot pack onto our crossbar and load the crossbar up onto our vehicle. We've got that one side on, we'll just take the other, we'll make sure that it's completely open there so this piece is going to fit over the nut, then we can slide into that channel on our crossbar, and we can load it up on our vehicle. Now the other things that you see here are all included except for the flat tape. You will have to provide your own. We'll just move this off to the side. more
